  • Old Order Mennonite Memoirs

    Roseann Zimmerman, Correspondent|May 2, 2019

The zipper of my jacket wouldn't go up any farther because I had yanked it to the limit. Clutching at the clothes around my throat helped, but I needed both hands to maintain my two-wheeled balance on the unpredictable terrain of my bluebird trail. So the spring breezes chilled me on my search for bluebird eggs. The rain drops of Sunday's gray skies now clung to the tall grasses along the meadow fence and swished off to soak my feet as my pedals rose and fell. As I crested the hill, I saw black...

  • Not Your Typical Church Lady

    Kelly Baker, Correspondent|May 2, 2019

Sometimes it is best to just be in the moment. Sometimes it's best to look around and be thankful for the beauty around us. Embrace the order of creation, don't try to alter it. It is as it should be already. Our hands can make many things, but we should not infringe upon the perfection already set before us by the One Creator. Dear Lord, Your majesty transcends the universe. It goes beyond anything I can see, smell, taste, hear or feel. It reaches from other universes that we aren't even aware...

  • Thought for the Week

    Pastor Earl Herr, Correspondent|May 2, 2019

We have about reached a plateau in our study of the Book of Acts. In the first half of the Book, we have seen human stars such as Peter, John, Stephen, Philip and Barnabas. From this point on, we see almost nothing of them. But something is happening here I want to examine a bit: Jesus said, "...I will build my Church..." (see St. Matthew 16:18). No one has seen a complete set of blueprints for it, but we have so far in the Book of Acts seen some unexpected construction. God told His People, "I...

At Conemaugh Health System, our mission is Making Communities Healthier®, and that includes helping you manage seasonal allergies.
