One of the fastest-growing segments of Pennsylvania’s rural economy are workers 65 years old and older. To learn more about older rural workers, the Center for Rural Pennsylvania used employment and demographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau and found that: • Rural workers under 65 years old and older have increased by 50 percent from 2012 to 2022.
