Originally known as Woodbury Country Club, it was founded in 1932. In 1962 it was reorganized as Ravers Gap Sportsman Association. At present, the group has 118 members. Charlie Clapper of New Enterprise passed away tragically on Aug. 22, 2018. He left behind a handicapped daughter, Beth, and a disabled wife, Robin. The Clappers struggled with hardships through out their lives. Beth was a small child when she was hurt on the family farm. She was left with paralysis and was severely handicapped forced to use a wheelchair. Southern Cove EMS, located in New Enterprise, made Christmas wreaths as a new fundraiser this year. The wreaths were assembled at Debbie and Jeff Mellott's Home in Loysburg by about 18 volunteers including EMS personnel. They also made vertical and horizontal swags. Herman and Cathy Nolt provided some outcome information since the Benefit Auction held on Sept. 11, 2021. The total amount of money after expenses were deducted came to $139,000. This money was sent to the clinics. The Nolts agreed this was the best year ever. With the pandemic in 2020 and no auction held donations were $118,000.
