    Claysburg – Seven local home bakers created decadent cakes during the Claysburg Area Farm Show’s “Homemade Chocolate Cake” baking contest sponsored by Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs (PSACF) on September 3. Scott Felix, from Alum Bank, took home top honors in the PSACF Homemade Chocolate Cake Contest with his Chocolate Cake. Second place winner was Apryl Smith of Duncansville.     The Claysburg Area Public Library is very appreciative of the generous donations of two organizations to the library. The Lions Sight Conservation Foundation of Blair County donated $3,000 to the library for large print books and audio books for the visually impaired. Audio books are also popular with people who commute a distance to their job. PA Skills Charitable Foundation donated $3,000 to increase the collection of books and resources.     There is still time to join our preschool program Learning @ the Library. Due to a lack of space for social distancing, we are not able to hold the classes in the library. Instead, packets can be picked up at the library each week with work sheet and craft materials. Don’t forget to read a book to your child related to the letter or number of the week.     The Claysburg Area Public Library is proud to be starting a Girls Who Code Club. Girls Who Code is a free after-school club which will work with facilitators to learn and/or improve their coding skills. The club will introduce girls in grades 6-12 to women who are currently making a difference by coding. The members will create their own website through teamwork with other members.
