    When I think of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, I think of more than one or two people, so I’m writing a tribute to five people for Parents’ Day, July 24. I’m one of four children born to Harry and Laura Snyder 80-plus years ago in Loysburg. The home I and my siblings were born into was, at first, a two-story log house, built about 200 years ago.   • Remembering Rodney Burket, Longtime Herald Employee

    E. Rodney Burket of Martinsburg passed away on May 26, 2019. He had worked for 35 years in the Herald's back shop as a printer, while Dick Loose operated the Linotype. Besides the job of running printing presses and other back-shop equipment (such as the binder and cutter), he helped with the newspaper layout on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and with unloading and loading newspapers on Wednesday afternoon. Rodney had been there for some time when I arrived in 1968 and probably retired when he was 65....
